*Membership Referral Criteria*

Membership of Be Safe Be Well Mens Sheds are open to all men aged 25+ irrespective of ethnic identity, ability, age, community background, race, nationality, sexual orientation, marital status or religion.

New members are always welcome. However, there may be occasions when it is deemed that for specific reasons Be Safe Be Well Mens Shed does not cater for the specific needs of an individual wishing to join.

We welcome men aged 25+ to join our sheds. We welcome men with physical disabilities or mild mental health conditions and also men with mild learning disabilities. We are a registered charity and funded by the community, we are not contracted by Health and Social Care Trusts and therefore are not a statutory or health service provider. We cannot therefore provide any individual care and we expect all members to be independent and to manage their own health conditions whilst attending our Mens Sheds.

When making a referral to our Mens Sheds we require full disclosure of your patient/clients medical conditions prior to joining to ensure that the individual meets with our referral criteria and fits within the criteria of the sheds risk assessments. We also require all members to disclosure all criminal record details, as detailed in the member registration document, acceptance of their membership to our Mens Shed will be at the discretion of the Be Safe Be Well Mens shed staff.

We cannot unfortunately offer transport to and from our Mens Sheds, however you may be eligible for affordable/accessible transport via North Coast Community Transport  or Translink .
